    Hi Arienne,
I have just printed all my A5 with a view to being totally on top of things as we begin this new year. I did have trouble with the printing. I had some gorgeous paper that I wanted to use so I carefully read your instructions, watched the video and commenced. It wasn’t until I printed the monthly tabs that I realised I had made a big mistake when I discovered June was on the other side of January! It was the last file I was printing so all I had done needed to be trashed as it didn’t match up. I had taken the printed pile and reinserted it in the paper tray as it was, without adjusting the order back to first to last. I had not even thought about this part! To make matters worse I’d used up all my gorgeous paper and a quick trip to office works certainly didn’t result in paper quality anywhere near what I wanted.

My question, however, is that no matter how hard I try I cannot get the monthly tabs to print large enough. They look pretty enough with the ‘tab’ about 1 inch in from the edge. I have a Fuji Xerox laser colour printer and the options in Word do not allow for actual size when booklet printing. I have literally tried everything and don’t know what to do. I also have a wide format Epson photo printer that I will try when I get a chance to see if the printer options are any better. I will let you know what happens but wondered if anyone else had experienced this issue.

In completing my filofax – an A5 Finsbury in orange! – I did need a few pages that I’d like to suggest may be an inclusion in the future?? On the personal info page I have liked to include my passport no./medicare no./health ins./drivers license etc. I printed out from the Philofaxy site a health page which I adjusted to include my doctors & specialists and their contact info along with current medication and a column for prescriptions & no. of repeats to countdown. I’ve been caught many times thinking I had a repeat for vital medication when in fact I didn’t. I would also love some travel planning pages for weekend getaways and longer trips. Though I think you could well do the latter in a package of its own! This is just for my personal filofax which is now well on the way to being just how I wanted it.

I have a personal filofax that I am using for work that is only essentials – diary, goals, contacts, projects, meeting notes & work related pages I have categorised and laminated.

That’s about all for this essay for now! To end, just thought I’d let you know that one of the items on my bucket list is to start a collection of filofaxes! I have my eye on a purple malden – just a pity I can’t seem to get it in an A5 so a mini might have to do for my purse. A pocket chameleon for the car is the next filo project.

Thanks Arienne and best wishes always.

    Hi Jo-Anne!
I loved your essay and I’m so sorry to hear about your printing challenges – it can be tricky! I always recommend doing a small test print run to check out your printer settings as they always seem to differ πŸ™ I’ve had some ‘fun’ trialing mine when I got it…( I would then print the files separately (do the intro section, then the lists, then the calendar parts etc).

With the A5 Tabs (, I would recommend doing them separately. Print the front sides first on A4 paper then flip around to do the back sides (making sure you place the paper in the correct direction!) then trim them down to size. The alignment can be a little fiddly but this should solve your size issues. It is also good to use heavier cardstock for these (if your printer allows) and then reinforce the tab bits with clear tape (or some people have told me they’ve laminated the the whole page!).

I really like your suggestions and will see if I can develop a medications page and travel package in the near future! The trouble I had with the personal info page was that every country has slightly different bits of ‘important’ info. Though I may see if I can develop slightly different ones for different countries – and of course include Australia!

I love your bucket list idea! I’ve just ‘stolen’ an unused Pocket Filofax from my Mum’s stationery cupboard while I’ve been visiting so now I have 2! Where do you get yours from? I’ve found them pretty pricey here in Oz and ordered my Chameleon from a US website.

Please let me know if you have any other questions and how you go with your printing. I hope you’re able to find some great paper again – would love to know what you end up using.

Happy New Year to you and Happy Life Crafting!

    Thank you Arienne!
The A5 tabs are fine. It didn’t occur to me to print A4 portait as I figured I was printing on A4 sideways (duh) – but then that means I didn’t read the instructions carefully enough.

I did do a trial print on the other sections but again, I wasn’t paying careful attention to ensure I had the right pages on the backsides. Again, duh! I felt like a complete idiot when I realised only at the end and therefore wasted ALL my lovely paper.

I got my A5 Finsbury on ebay, my personal from a lovely online stationery co. here in Melbourne – I’ve just ordered from them a mini Chameleon in Aqua to use as my daily budget/spending tracker and my purse. Another online stationer and physical store I recently discovered, again in Melbourne, is Their prices for filofax are fairly competitive and much cheaper than a lot of other places. I’m fairly impatient when it comes to things I want – if I want it, then it has to be as quickly as possible! I get so frustrated waiting for parcels from the US or Europe.

Nice move in stealing your mum’s pocket filo – wish my mum had one, I’d do the same!

PS Tks for the tip for Montgomery Pens – great store. My 20yo daughter is heading off to NYC on 16th Jan but not sure if she would do this kind of shopping for me.

    Hi Arienne,
So excited to soon start using your clever AND beautiful planner pages. I have a question. Will you offer a printed version of just the dated Week on two pages in personal size?
I will order the above and also the printed starter pack of Day on one page because I want both views of my week – and I detest printing personal size papers and cutting them myself. They always end up looking and feeling “funny”.
Sorry to bother you in this busy time of all the planner pages going online in the shop!
    Kind regards,

    1. admin

      Hi Julie!
Thank you for your comments πŸ™‚

Yes, I will be offering a small number of dated Week on 2 Page Personal Sets. They should be available in a couple of weeks!

Any other questions please let me know,

    Hi Arienne,

I just discovered your product and think this is the one! for my planner. I would like to order the printed personal size WO2P whole shebang, along with MO@2P inserts and 2014 dated tabbed dividers. I found the WO2P inserts, but could not find the MO2P printed inserts or the dated Tabbed inserts. Are these unavailable?

Thanks so much for the cheerful videos!

    Kind regards,

    1. admin

      Hello Deanna!!!!
The Starter Packs (the whole shebangs!) have the monthly pages and tabs in them.
I don’t have the MO2P in a printed version sold separately. The tabs don’t have dates on them so you can use them from year to year.
      Does that clarify it?

      Hi Joan!
The A5 inserts are very similar in size to the Arc Junior – 8.27 x 5.83 inches.
Depending on which one you are looking at I have some pre-printed sets without holepunches.
Otherwise the PDFs you can print yourself.
Please let me know if you have any questions πŸ™‚

Just about to purchase your a5 starter pack dpp dotted in pdf. The monthly tabs are included also. I’m just not sure how this works with printing out the tabs… so I’m thinking of purchasing also the monthly tabs printed. Is this to be recommended?

    1. admin

Hello Maaike! Generally I recommend printing the tabs out on high quality card stock in a larger size then cutting them out. The pre-printed sets are very durable and have plastic coated tabs for greater durability – I saw you ordered these and I look forward to getting them out to you!

      1. Maaike Holman

        Hi there!

Thanks for your reply! Yes, I ordered…just in case but wanted the starter pack too. Just bought fab paper to print it on. Now fingers crossed I can get this done.. Looking forward to receiving your monthly tabs.. they’re the best I’ve come across (and I’ve seen alot! πŸ™‚
Can you tell me, when I’ll have access to the download for my pack? Can’t wait to give this selfprinting thingie a go πŸ™‚
        Thanks again
